Project Splinescan
WEBSITE UNDER RECONSTRUCTION - PLEASE BE PATIENT

Project splinescan represents a significant effort to develop effective open source 3D scanning tools. The project aims to exploit all laser based methods of object scanning, and places emphasis on the portability of code between operating systems, and on the optimisation of code for low-power hardware. The newest incarnation of the scanner (codenamed picoscan) is expected to be complete sometime in late 2007, and will be the most feature rich version to date. Picoscan will support colour texture maps, fully automatic configuration, multiple lasers, intelligent hole cutting and advanced data recovery. The turntable on picoscan can be replaced with a motion controlled version for high resolution scanning, and the flexibility of the new scanning application allows for linear, rotary and environment scanning.
